The 2018 Emerging Scholars Seminar focuses on how students graduating from programs in theatre, performance, and dance studies can hone and articulate their skills for both the academic and alt-academic job market. This theme is driven by recommendations published in the 2017 CATR Emerging Scholars Task Force Report.
This enriching afternoon pre-conference session features two separate panel discussions on the skills germane to graduate level theatre and performance studies training that make a candidate competitive in the academic and alt-academic job environments; a peer to peer series of short PechaKucha presentations, delivered by emerging scholars themselves, about resources useful for career development; and plenty of time for networking, discussion, and collaboration. The seminar is intended to support both emerging scholars and faculty that supervise early career researchers. We invite all conference attendees to attend the session.
